SPMC Cardinals Basketball Coverage Tips Off This Friday

It’s cold outside, but it will be hot inside on the basketball court starting this Friday as Sun Prairie Cardinal boys’ and girls’ varsity hoops teams get set to tip off their 2017-2018 seasons!

Though football coverage has gone later in the season than usual – not that anyone’s complaining! – the Sun Prairie Media Center will turn its attention to the boys’ and girls’ Cardinal basketball teams beginning Friday, November 17!

Just as with its football coverage, all varsity basketball games will be broadcast, with the home games seen live on KSUN Charter Cable 983, streamed at sunprairiemediacenter.com/ksun, and broadcast live on 103.5 The Sun Community Radio. The away games will be broadcast only on 103.5 The Sun Community Radio with audio streamed at sunprairiemediacenter.com.

The first 103.5 FM radio broadcast of the 2017-2018 season will be Friday, November 17, as the girls’ varsity team visits Madison East. After a second girls’ game at home against Middleton on Tuesday, November 21, the first boys’ game will air Saturday, November 25, at 7 PM, as Sun Prairie hosts Bay Port. All games – with the exception of the November 25 game – are currently scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM.

Following the live broadcast, all boys’ and girls’ home games will be made available for on demand viewing at sunprairiemediacenter.com.

Handling the call for the boys’ games will be Mike Mathison — coming back to the SPMC for his fourth straight year of basketball broadcasts — and Getonn Harper. The girls’ games will be called by Anthony Denu and Terrell Drewek for the second straight season.

The SPMC would like to thank its basketball sponsors for the 2016 season: Hallman Lindsay Paints, Woodman’s, Prairie Lakes Dental, Monk’s Bar and Grill, Day One Pizza, Bank of Sun Prairie, Sun Prairie Utilities, and Wilde East Towne Honda.

Sponsorships are still available for a very limited time – interested businesses are asked to call 837-4193 or e-mail Jeff Robbins at jrobbins@cityofsunprairie.com if interested.
