Cardinal Playoff Hoops Live on KSUN, 103.5 FM

The Sun Prairie Cardinals boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams each had a great regular season and are storming head-first into the playoffs! As it has all season, the action will continue on KSUN (Charter cable channel 983 and TDS channels 10 and 1013), on 103.5 The Sun Community Radio, and online at sunprairiemediacenter.com.

After finishing the regular season 20-2 and securing the outright Big Eight Conference title, the Sun Prairie girls’ basketball team was awarded a No. 2 seed heading into this week’s WIAA postseason tournament.

The lady Cardinals begin postseason play on Friday, February 23, and will take on Kenosha Bradford, who won an opening round game on Tuesday night over Beloit Memorial.

Should the Cardinals prevail on Friday, they would play either Madison La Follette or Verona on Saturday, February 24. Both games would be at the Sun Prairie High School Field House.

Both girls’ games will begin at 7 PM and will be carried live on KSUN, 103.5 The Sun Community Radio, and streamed online at sunprairiemediacenter.com.

Not to be outdone, the Sun Prairie Cardinal boys’ basketball team earned their first-ever outright Big Eight Conference championship in their program’s history after beating Verona Friday night at home.

The Cardinals have a No. 1 seed in the 2018 WIAA Division 1 Boys Basketball Tournament and are scheduled to play their first game Friday, March 2, at 7 PM. They will take on either Badger or Madison West at the Sun Prairie High School Field House. Should they win, they would next play Janesville Craig or Kenosha Bradford on Saturday, March 3, at 7 PM.

All games will be called live by on all of the Sun Prairie Media Center platforms by announcers Mike Mathison, Getonn Harper, Anthony Denu, and Terrell Drewek. All games will be carried live and made available to watch later on demand at sunprairiemediacenter.com.

The SPMC has broadcast 38 games so far this season and is excited about breaking the 40 barrier.
